Hey all,

The subject was actually brought up elsewhere on this board, but I thought I'd ask a seperate question rather than 'jack the thread.

Whatare y'alls opinions onthe performance and durability difference between cross-drilled, slotted, and drilled and slotted rotors?

Thanks in advance.

thats a good question, i never really knew the big difference between the 2. I will post on another forum and see what I can come up with.

I'd appreciate anything...especially backed up by facts and figures...that you can find. Opinions work good too, though.

ok..i worked as a tech for a while, and drilled slotted rotors do disperse heat better than a typical vented rotor...however, i have seen quite a few cases where drilled rotors crack around the drill holes..they are very tiny cracks, and ive never seen them cause a problem, but it does happen. this is one reason why some companies are using slotted dimpled rotors...instead of drilled.

also, people who used slotted rotors often complain of a "swishing noise" from the rotors.

that being said, i do plan to install slotted drilled rotors on my car this spring.
