Hello,



I recently test drove a 99 Alero V-6 with 91,000 miles. The car
seems to be in good mechanical condition. However, I am bothered
by the reading the temperature gauge gave as I drove the car.



As I drove the car around Los Angeles (for about 15 minutes; the
temperature outside was in the low 80s), the temp gauge hovered at
slightly above the half-way mark for most of the time.
Occassionally, it would drop slighlty below the half-way mark (when the
fans kicked in). The dealer tells me that the engine temperature
is normal. However, I am concerned that the car is running too hot.



So, are there any Alero owners out there who could tell me what their temp gauges typically read in summer/city driving.
