Removing Air Pump?
#1
Hi All
I'm new here and not very familiar with Olds products but....My son just purchased an exetremely nice 1986 Olds Cutlass Supreme Brougham 2 doorfrom my Dad ( Dad can't drive anymore). My parents purchased the car new and it has 124,000 miles on it. It is powered by a 307 V8 with a four barrel carb and automatic transmission. It runs well but needs some minor attention (cooling system flush, valve cover gaskets, tuneup, etc).
My question is: Can I remove some of the smog equipment and remove some of the excess clutter from the engine compartment? Emission testing is nonexistent where I live so that is not a problem. Engine seems to be down on power (my slant 6 66 Dart will outrun it) but runs smooth and starts well.
Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated! I think this car will make my son a nice first ride.
Thanks
Todd
