does anybody know of a manufacturer that makes headers to fit a 455 olds engine swap into a 1989 camaro? I have found nothing so far!!! I'm hoping not to have to have expensive custom headers. thanks, Bill.

That may be your only out. I have a 76 Cutlass that I called around for headers a few years back. Found a few that made them and settled on Hooker. The 455 I found out is very much against accepting headers. That was one of the most difficult installs even with the engine out which appears was the only way to install. As is, with no heat shield the damn starter came over heating. I have since made the choice to use stock exhaust manifolds on my others. Even my 66 442 which runs a 68 hurst olds 455 which has headers has been a problem. The rotate right into the A-frame bolt.

DON'T KNOW IF THIS WILL HELP BUT START WITH A PAIR OF PRE-MADE HEADERS (HOOKERS-HEADMAN ETC.)AND THEN BE PREPARED TO CUT AND WELD AS YOU GO OR JUST START WITH A HEADER KIT AND STILL WELD. INCIDENTALLY MY NEXT PROJECT WILL BE A 455 INTO AN '84 GMC FULL SIZE PICK UP. I'VE ALREADY PICKED UP A SET OF HEADMSN'S FOR A 442. HOPE THEY WORK.
