Worth it ?

I have read about those Tornado contraptions that areadded to the intake hoseafterthe air box. Suppose to add up to 35 hp and improve gas milage. My friends dont belive so but noone I know has had any personal experience with them. My father has one in his GMC Sierra but cant really compare its performance there with my '96 Cutlass' 3.1 V-6 12 valve... im curious before I consider buying!
Any comments?
thanks again

No experience here either, but from what I heard it is truly garbage a waist of money and even if u do gain something it definitely won't be 35 hp or better gas mileage. You might gain a half of horsepower and .2 miles extra per gallon of gas.Definitely not worth it, on an olderOlds with a carb it might be a little better but not on a newer car.

Ever seen a racer with one? Ever seen Consumer Reports recommend one? Ever seen one on a new car? Ever seen one in a Summit or Jegs (or any reputable speed shop) catalog?
The whole idea is LAMINAR flow. What a load of crap.
I'll leave it next to the "guaranteed 100 mpg carburetor" and "engine rebuild pellets" they used to sell in J.C. Whitney.

They don't work. I beleive people see improvement because they drive lighter. If you think about it there not going to work because they sworl the air then it gets sensored anyways and if it worked like Texasred said if it worked they would be puting them in new cars and EVERYONE would have them. Just another way to make money good theory Doubt it will ever work!
just my thoughts!~
