02 intrigue 3.5 newer ac delco alternator not charging
 

Hi, i have a an issue with 6 month old new alternator not charging all of a sudden, i will share some info that may be relevant, i was driving home in a rain storm and deep puddles of water on the highway splashing up pretty good under car. I drove home 30 miles and no issues, next morning i started car and within 5 seconds battery light came on. I was running late for work so i thought it had to be a glitch, nope about 3 miles down the road mt gauges go crazy and moments later it died. Checked voltage it was about 11.6 i think, i charged battery to 12.5 then restarted car, checked voltage 11.9 and dropping. Irs not charging. What could happen to a alternator overnight? I checked alternator 10 a fuse in underhood box its ok. Any suggestions please?

Anyone? I have no local help and i need car for work in the morning. I cant figure it out, i am pretty sure newer alternator didnt just go bad overnight, but im thinging all the splashing water underneath maybe plays a roll? Just not sure why, because i drove it home 30 miles and no issues. Just strange
