I had to replace a defective alternator in my Intrigue. When I reconnected the battery and started the car, the needles on the temperature and fuel gauges spun around to the rear side of the gauges and pegged out. Is there any way to get the gauges to "reset"?

 

Ended up removing the cluster, making and gluing a new peg that held the needle of the gas gauge between full and empty. The gauges now all stay between the pegs and read correctly.
