i have '99 3.5L intrigue 101,000 miles

right after the winter this car started having some weird problems..
1)the lights dimer and get brighter as i drive
2)the voltage jumps up and down
3)ABS brakes, airbag, and, traction lights go on and off
4)sometimes cars acceleration is horrible for no reason at all and it consumes alot of gas

some people sugested that it's the alternator.

It sounds like "a short in the wiring or BAD GROUNDS"! My guess bad grounds. You could take a jumper cable and test for this, connect a cable to the neg post of battery, connect the other end to a clean spot on the engine. Do this test while engine is running poorley and lights dim. If engine speeds up and lights go bright with cable hooked up, its the grounds.

On a 94 olds cutless the wiring grounds are located across the raditor support, take them apart 1 at a time and clean the connections and put them back together. Also make sure your battery cables are clean and tight. good luck!
