Computer Possibly Failing?
#1
I have a 1998 Intrigue GL which up until this point has been an excellent car with only minor issues. Lately I have noticed a few things acting up that weren''t really that big of an issue until this morning.
A couple of weeks ago I noticed that the steering wheel audio controls stopped working intermittently, and then they would do things they weren''t supposed to do, like pressing the down button for volume would change the radio to the cd changer instead of changing the volume. This problem has fixed itself apparently as it has not happened again.
This morning I was driving to work and I was using my high beams on a dark country road which is known for deer accidents. I turned my high beams off and my blue high beam indicator stayed lit on the gauge cluster, and the fog lights did not come back on when switching from high beams to low beams. When I got to work I got out of the car looked at the headlights, both the high, and low beams were on at the same time and the fog lights were out. I turned the car off, let it sit for about 15 minutes as I was a little early to work, turned it back on and the headlights were acting normally.
This afternoon I turned the car on and the high-beam indicator was on once again. The headlights should not have been on at all as I did not have the light switch turned, and it was bright sunlight were the car was sitting. I drove home the entire way with both high and low beam lights on and when I got home and turned the car off, they stayed on. No matter what I do, the lights are still on even though the key is out of the ignition, and the light stalk is in the off position, and the light switch is also off.
I''m wondering if my computer is going bad or if some kind of wiring has crossed somewhere even though nothing has been done to the car in a while other than changing the oil.

I don''t know if it''s a computer problem, but I have a 99 Intique and I have problems with my headlights and climate control panel. From what I understand the problem is in the ignition switch, it''s the center for all the wiring. I was told to take the switch out and clean the connections or to replace the whole switch. If read the forums you will see common problems with the Intriques and what the possible problems are.
