i have a 99 intrigue 3.5 i just bought it i also noticed it came with an alarm system i also have keyless entry transmitter my question is can any keyless transmitter can work with the alarm please help

 

intrigues do not come with a factory alarm so it must be an aftermarket, you can buy a transmitter, but it has to be coded to the alarm, you can go to an alarm shop and they can help you

if your car is an Intuige GLX it did come with sort of an alarm. GM calls it a Content protection system. This uses the factory keyless entry remotes. If you are referring to the "security" light in the guage cluster, that is for the "Passlock" system and is a passive theft deterrent system, NOT an alarm.


It is possible that the previous owner installed an alarm like the one I have, It is a Crimeguard AL-100c which hooks into the factory keyless entry system and is armed / disarmed by the keyless entry remotes.
