i am a new owner of a used intrigue and just found out about the recall that was given on the rack and pinion. I can tell by the way the car steers that the work was not done. Is it still possible to have it done?

Sure. It was a federally mandated recall...they HAVE to do it.Contact any GM dealer and they can help you.

I have a 2001 4 dr Intrigue. The rack and power steering pump have been replaced, the steering wheel binds up during tight turns @ slow speeds. My mechanic has replaced the rack a second time. The problem still is present today. Any suggestions?

Do you have the information ofhe Federal Recall available? My mechanic is not a GM dealer and was unable to find the recall.

Thanks

According to a recall site I searched for the rack and pinion recall was for 1998 models, can anyone comfirm this? I have a 2000 model and the rack and pinion steering has never really felt right.
