Secondary Air Injection System malfunction
Hello,
As all who reads this post will very quickly realize, I am not an automobile mechanic. That said, my wife's car - a 2001 Intrigue - displayed the "Secondary Air Injection System malfunction" error yesterday. I called a dealer and was told that the problem can range from a fuse to bad pumps or valves. I thought that I would try to eliminate the fuse as the potential problem but I don't know which of the fuses in the fuse box is affiliated with my problem. Which one should I check? Is there anything else that I should check/look for to locate the problem? Any and all guidance/direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Herb |
Herb, it's a pretty involved system, and I doubt a fuse is truly a likely cause. I've been a tech for 25 years, and the last one I diagnosed took a scanner, ohmmeter, and a vacuum pump. It ended up being a valve, but I'd hate to say that's what yours is. find a decent tech and get it diagnosed properly.
