Trying to install pioneer cd player in a 99 olds intrigue
 

I have a friend that has a 1999 olds intrigue with the bose sound system. He bought the pioneer radio, wiring harness, and converter all from radio shack. They said that he would need this audio converter for the pioneer radio to work with the bose sound system. Well after following the wiring diagrams given for the radio and everything else, the cd player powered on correctly when the cars key was in the acc position and in the on position. However, there is no sound coming from any of the speakers. I went through and checked the wiring multiple times and it is 100% correct from the given material. Does anyone know why there is no sound? I am completely lost, from some of the reading that I have done there may be an internal amplifier that I need to remove? Then replace that amplifier with an external amplifier? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you
