Hey, guys I am looking for some info, basic, I just found a 86 442 in a friends garage, it has 87k, one owner, it is in great shape. Going to have it detailed inside and out this week.


It has the burgundy int., T-tops, all of the correct #'s for the 442. Has the GM t-top bags. Posi-trac, all power, no rust on the under carraige, exhaust is new.


My questions are the following I do not have plans as of yet for the car, I have 2 other collector cars,I want to know what it could sell for and how to find out where to decode the trunk lid #'s.

The shop manual will tell what all the codes mean some codes are used for more than one car line within GM and for more than one year such as positraction and rear end ratio post them here someone will have manual for your year and will help
