Question 93-95 Cutlass Cieras

Greetings:
We own a 93 Cutlass Ciera S for 4 years. The body is giving out and mechanics say get rid of it(because the problem now is a gas tank leaks from the top of the tank). Mechanics fear that if they take off the tank, they won't be able to fix it and put it back on. We would not have minded a new gas tank, but the mechanics hesitated, saying, "Give it up." The 93 S has 196000+ miles, the engine always starts and my wife feels comfortable taking it to work in big snow storms and other nasty weather.

Yesterday we bought a 95 Cutlass Ciera SL with 93000 miles. We look forward to using for at least 4-6 years.

Questions:
1. Would a replacement gas tank be worth a try on the 93 S?
2. Can we take the front drivers seat from the 93 S and put it into driver's seat of the 95SL and have it work? It is a multidirectional seat moving front, back, up, down.
3. The 93 S has aluminum wheels and 195 70R14 tires and on the SL 185 70R 14’s . Can we safely change wheels and tires? Thanks for any help.

1. It depends on how much you need/want a second car and the associated expenses of insurance, tags, etc. Also consider the cost of the gas tank repair, and the gamble that it can be fixed at all. Is a 17 year old car with almost 200K worth it to you? If the rust is really that bad, it can't be far from rusting through in other places as well. Those are just a few things to consider, the decision will be up to you of course.

2.Sorry, I dont know about the seats. Look around and see if the electrical connectors and seat rails are the same, then try it.

3. The 195/70R14 tires are 1 cm wider and 7 mm taller than the 185s. They should fit just fine if the bolt pattern of the wheels is the same.
