hi guys just joined. i plan on buying a 1970 cutlass supreme, i was wondering if you can decode the vin# and the data plate for me.
vin#342570Z100891, ST 70-34257 BF 0049 BDY
TR 974B80 58H PNT
08E 007576 120406

any help in this matter would great. hope to from you guy's soon.

Let me give this a crack.
342570Z100891
3 = Oldsmobile
42 = Cutlass Supreme V8
57 = 2 door coupe
0 = 1970 model year
Z = Freemont, CA production plant
100891 = production sequence number. Looks like your car is #891 (starts at 100001) down the line.

ST 70(1970)-3(div-olds)42(series - cutlass supreme)57(body style - 2 door coupe) BF(plant code - Fremont, CA) 0049(unit number) BDY
TR 974B80(trim combination number) 58H(body color) PNT
08E(time built code - 5th week of aug, 1970) 007576 120406(not sure on these)

thanks guy's what i would like to know is what color is 58h and what the trim should it be tr974b80 as i want to restore it back to original shape it looks like the interior is gold(the dash is black, should this be gold also) the exterior is burgandy but i can see some gold coming thru. thanks Rick

58 is Burnished Gold.
I think the H is for the vinyl top color, but I can't find anything to verify that.
