Greetings!
Hi folks! I am an Oldsmobile owner of, oh, about three hours now. I just received a 1995 Cutlass Ciera, maroon, with the 3.1L V6. It is in generally good shape- very good body, fair to good interior, and brand new tires. Everything works, except, well, the engine. I have no clue what was wrong with it, but the price was right, and I think I am going to have a try at fixing it. I'm sure it will be a fairly major repair- the previous owner said something about a rod. I think it may be worth the effort though- everyone I've ever met who owned one of these (or their other GM counterparts) liked them very much.
I've done auto repair for several years now, and have worked on many of these cars for other people, but I am not what you would call professional. I worked in an old mechanic shop while in college, and made frequent use of the owner's library of repair manuals. Now that I live far away from that shop, I rely mostly on forums like this to get the technical information I need.
I appreciate in advance any help that is given here, and hope that I can offer some in return!
