Greetings From Indiana!
Hey there everyone, My name is John, I am from Northern Indiana. I own a Black 1998 Cutlass GLS with a Beige leather interior. This car is the first non-Chevrolet product I have ever owned and I am proud to say I am an Oldsmobile owner. I also own a 2002 Chevrolet Camaro, so I haven't quite abandoned my Chevy loyalty completely, lol.
I have owned my Cutlass for just about two months now and has almost 101,000 miles on the odometer. The car was purchased to be my Winter beater car but has quickly become a sort of resto-tuning project. I would say overall I am very pleased with the car, although there have been a few little problems, cosmetic and mechanical.
I researched this car thoroughly before purchasing it, so all of it's little "quirks" like bum fan switches and false warning lights have come with no surprise. It was when the car dumped it's entire oil contents on my driveway that I was a little surprised. Evidently the oil additive I put in the engine stirred up sludge at the bottom of the engine and added extra pressure, which caused the oil filter to blow out. Thankfully an intensive engine flush cured the problem.
In addition to that little repair, I have replaced the front seats which were ripped to shreds and the factory radio which had a cassette tape fused inside .
I am looking forward to enjoying my Cutlass for as long as she holds up. She has been a champ in the terrible Indiana snow we've had this year as well as being so comfortable to drive It has sparked the Olds passion in me and I'm even considering a 2001-2003 Aurora.
