Hey guys. Name is William. I'm from Decatur, Ga and I have a 97 Olds 88 that I picked up for $400. The A/C doesn't work (compressor) And it has a weird transmission surge/shudder that I have no idea what it is. 84k miles when I got it in April, and I have 102k on it now. Done a few cosmetic changes to it, and have a supercharger waiting to go on once I get an L67 block and HD transmission. My previous car was a 1994 Mazda Miata autocross/track/mountain/daily, and it's a massive switch going from that to this. I like it though. Love the straightline punch. And it's getting lowered soon, so that'll help with cornering Anyways. Just sayin' hey, and here are a few pics.

Nice pics, welcome!
I responded to your other thread before reading this, so I didn't know your problem was tranny based until now. I assume you've done a pan drop and filter change?
A random misfire/plug wires arcing can also cause the surging. I had a 95 Cutlass that did the same thing, new wires fixed it.

I haven't done the flush/filter change yet. That's my next project. The car has new plugs and wires in it.
