Newbie - need some help on a 68 442

First timer, and novice. I just purchased a 68 442, and noticed coolant on the ground after a 1 hr drive. The coolant was coming from an open end tube that was hanging near the bottom of the radiator, and the tube was connected to what I would normally call the radiator overflow near the radiator cap. I am used to the overflow going to a “reservoir”, but in this case I could not find a coolant overflow reservoir....Need some help as I don’t know what is normal here. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Coolant reservoirs to not come into vogue until the tree huggers became dominant. That would be post 1970. The overflow tube was stock configuration in 1968
