Just got my self an '64 Olds. f-85. This car is nice!! Good interior, stright body, no rust... Thing is that it has no engine or trans. I know nothing about Oldsmobiles.. My question is what engine and trans will fit in this car with out me having to move the motor mounts or messing with the drive shaft?? Thanx in andvance guys!!!

 

64 was the first year of the "modern" olds V8. The car should have come with a 330 engine and most likely a jetaway 2 speed trans. You should be able to drop any "modern" (260, 307, 330, 350, 403, 400, 425, 455) in there with little issue so long as you get the correct 330 engine mounts. The only thing is headers may be an issue with a BBO (big block olds) as they were not offered in the A body until 1965 and even so they are hard to find.
