Silhouette Secrets
 

Hi, my name is Charles, and I'm a silhouette artist from the UK.
So what am I doing here? Good question.

I am currently involved in the making of a TV documentary about the art and history of silhouettes (the art, not the car). The film involves a trip to the US where we travel by car around New England (Boston, New York, Baltimore) talking to people who know about silhouettes and some of the artists who still practice the art.

Given the nature of the program what better vehicle to travel in, we thought, than an Oldsmobile Silhouette! However, looking for one has proved problematic. Since production ceased in 2004 car hire companies no longer have them in stock, and even if they did cannot guarantee to supply a particular make and model of car. So I thought I'd look in at this Forum and see if anybody can help.

Does anybody who where we hire an Oldsmobile Silhouette for about a week at the end of March in the New York area? Perhaps a specialist car hire company, or an individual who doesn't mind loaning one out for a reasonable rent? We don't have a huge budget but are prepared to pay the current going rate for car hire + any insurance that will be needed. We can of course also offer a credit in the film!

Hoping somebody can help, or point us in the direction of a company who can.
