Default How to wire LED DRL on a 1992 Regency 98?

I'd like to add 18W LED DRL into my 1992 Olds 98. There is an OEM mounting bracket already integrated into the bumper.
Since these are only 18W each 36W LED total, can they be t-Tapped into the parking / sidemarker lights or should I run a separate switch from the battery?
I believe 18W LED lights probably draw less than 18W, they are usually marketed by light output not actual usage. I have LED headlights that are brighter than OEM halogen yet only use 30 watts each. Of course my dash info center tells me they are burned out, which they aren't, just using lower wattage.
