1979 Hurst Olds - sell it or fix it
 

Ok guys, a couple of questions....

First I have a 1979 Hurst Olds W30 (or rather my son does) Car is in good, driver, condition overall. The problem is two fold, 1.) He's just not into it. and 2.) the mill just crapped two cylinders. Havent dug all the way into it, but enough to know there is minimal compression in two cylinders.

Digging around trying to find a long block L34 R-code (Rocket 350) has shown me these are difficult to find at best, and expensive when you do.

IT is possible we may be able to salvage this engine, with time and money (lots of money)

What other engines are direct drop in options? I've been told the Pontiac engines will swap over (although they seem hard to find as well)

Or am i better off selling the whole car off to somebody else that my be more willing (and appreciative) of the car and let my son move on to something else?
