You will have to drop the fuel tanks. Unbolt the filler neck first. Then get a jack under the tank. Unbolt the straps that hold the tank up. Lower it down slowly. Unhook all the wires and the fuel lines and pull the tank out from under the van. I don''t know if you can get the sending unit seperate from the fuel pump or if it is one unit. Depending on how many miles you have you may want to change the fuel pump since you will have it out.

I just bought the van. It has 133 thousand miles on it. But that seems to be the only problem. And the egr, but that is not major. Can I purchase the sender seperatly from the fuel pump?

I''m not sure if you can. I''m sure if you call up a GM dealership and ask them they will be able to tell you. I know it would be a hell of a lot cheaper if it is sold seperate.
