battery removal

just got a 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette .. love it .. always been a GM man as was my dad .. this is my first Oldsmobile however
anyway like i said i just got the van .. and i mean just got .. on a quick look i realized the battery is a bit buried .. how do i remove it if i ever have to change it?

If the van has the original battery in it, I''d recommend you replace it shortly. The battery R&R looks worse than it is:
1. Remove and reposition the underhood electrical center in order to provide access for removal of the battery.
2. Remove the front end sheet metal diagonal brace.
3. Remove the battery ground (negative) cable from the battery.
4. Remove the battery positive cable from the battery.
5. Remove the battery hold down retainer. IMPORTANT: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during removal.
6. Remove the battery.
7. Remove the battery insulator from the battery.
Reverse above & you''re done.
