fuse blowing on 99 silhouette
 

Help! The underhood 40AMP fuse keeps blowing when I try to start the van. I found a melted purple wire under the hood that I replaced which fixed the problem for awhile. Now it acts up randomly. I can bypass the fuse with a length of wire to get it to start but I'm tired of doing this and need it to be safe and reliable for my family. Any suggestions? I appreciate any help or suggestions.
