The inner tie rod ends on my '94 Silhouette are shot. I have the GM shop manual, and regarding their replacement, it lists pulling the rack and pinion and changing the inner tie rods on the bench.


I've pulled rack and pinions before and it is not a fun job at all. Is there someone experienced out there who has successfully (or unsuccessfully, as the case may be) changed inner tie rod ends with the rack and pinion still in the van, and if so, what are the tricks I should know in advance.
