does this problem sound fermiliar to anyone on this topic??


i have a '72 toronado with a cooling problem, if i shut down the engine the engine starts to boil and within 20 seconds the coolant gushes out of the coolanttank and radiator overflow i already put a new fanclutch on the fanand a new element in the radiator so i don't get it cause i thought it the source of the problem lay within the radiator cause the channels were almost plugged with chalk

suggestions , radiator cap may need replacing , what temperature does the guage read prior to shutdown ? are the radiator coils clean, use a air hose to blow the coils out, dirt and debris can cause overheating. are hoses old and closing up? just a few things to check...

if it has a bad radator cap it would work good cause it would over flow. and it wouldnt cool. u might seeze the motor.
