Attachment 914You''ll need both remotes to do it properly however if you only have one you will need to substitute it for the second remote in the programming procedure. The entire process must be completed within 30 seconds or you''ll have to start over. The good news is the 30 second timer doesn''t start until you ground the programming lead on the RKE (remote keyless entry) module. The RKE module is located in the trunk under the package tray. There should be a short green wire hanging loose all by itself with a black plug on the end of it. This is your programming lead. Get a jumper wire of a few feet in length and connect it with some kind of clip to the trunk release solenoid mounting screw. This is located behind the molded carpet covering the trunk latch. When you have your remotes and jumper wire ready here is the procedure:

1) Turn the igntion key to the run position but do not start the car.

2) Ground the green jumperwire from the RKE module. The doors will lock and unlock almost immediately. Your 30 second timer has begun.

3) Press the lock button on the first remote twice. The door will lock and unlock to confirm.

4) Press the lock button on the second remote (or the first one again if you do not have a second) twice and the doors will lock and unlock to confirm.

5) Remove the jumper wire AND switch off the ignition key. You are done.

Test the remote (s) for proper function. A WORD OF NOTE. The antenna for the RKE module is located along the back glass on the driver side. You may have reduced signal distance due to age or battery strength. Start by holding the remotes at the back window on the driver side and test them while slowly increasing your distance from the window. If you only get a few feet from the car before it stops working then it might be time for new remote batteries. They are available almost anywhere. I don''t recall the battery number but onceyou have them removed they will have the number stamped on them.

Hope this helps. Mike
