The ring gear on my flywheel (LH425 transmission), came off. I need to know a little bit about the anatomy of the 425 transmission to the 455 engine. I'm wondering if I can access the ring gear and replace it without puling the whole engine.

I dont think you can. I had a (cough) Chevy truck once with the same problem. I ended up replacing the flywheel and ring gear.

I just had my '85 Toronado tranny rebuilt. They didnt have to remove the engine to do it.
