we have been getting abs, service engine soon and trac control lights on the dash. If you restart the car it goes away for a while. The brakes are good, can it be a problem with the abs system. I know trac control and the abs system are tied together. Any ideas would be great. ps...sometimes the turn signals stop working, if you turn on the emergency flashers they will start to work again. Any connection?

I have had both of those problems with mine. With the abs in your wheel but is the abs sensor. I could either be that the sensor is bad or that the wire coming out is broke or not making good connection. The bad thing is if the sensor is bad you have to change out the whole hub. I had one done by a dealer and I will never pay for them to do it again. It’s not too hard as long as you have a nice long breaker bar. With the turn signals I had to replace the turn signal switch. It is located in the dash with your emergency flashers. It is all one piece

Jdodd is correct. The ABS and turn signal problems are not related. Check with a dealer, as some years of Alero are subject to a recall for the flasher unit, and the dealer should replace it free.

Both the hubs and wiring to the hubs are common problem areas on Aleros. Also, the connections at the hubs tend to get loose, fill with water, and corrode.
