Default chime after drive?

I have an 02 Alero that is driving me crazy. Every now and then, after I put the car into drive, I will hear 4 or 6 chime after I move about 25 feet. It will only chime in drive, and only once I have moved a short distance. Does anyone know what the chimes are for? By the way, I have no warning lights present when this happens.

I know it will do that if the e brake is on when the car is in drive but like you said you have no lights on. I would make sure the e brake is all the way down. Other than that I don't know.

As bad as this is gonna sound, I seldom where my seat belt. The car doesn't do it all the time, it goes through phases of doing it more frequently and then less frequently. Also, sometimes it's 6 chimes, sometimes it's 4. Needless to say, very frustrating.

That;s your problem my friend, car is saying WEAR YOUR BELT DUMMY!

My girlfriend doesn't wear her belt because she says it cuts her neck.

Everybody has excuses, Aleros are meant to be luxury vehicles lol so comfort shouldnt be an issue.

And yeah, the chimes aren't dependable, but its always because of no belt. E-brake chimes are much faster and dont stop until you release it, Seatbelt chimes will go depending on the cars mood i guess.
