My car got out of the shop just yesterday- prognosis- I needed new radiator hoses- bottom and top, plus clamps. Needless to say it wasn''t cheap. Today my husband notices a good amount of fluid on the street after lunch and much to my dismay, we open the overflow tank and I''m bone dry!

Any other guesses what it could be?

2.4L

Update- Now the shop guy is saying it''s possibly the intake gasket or head gasket, and they don''t do that kind of work....uh- so it wasn''t the hoses that cost me $200 with labor! My husband was wondering why there wasn''t some pressure test. We wouldn''t have touched that car knowing there was a gasket issue. Gasket or maniforld equals broke!

I don''t know much about the 2.4l motor but I can direct you to a source that does, www.aleromod.com. Hope this helps you out.

Hi again-

big update- it wasn''t at all what that place said it was- it turned out to be a cracked coolant tank- $125 total.

Not $800 for a "manifold issue"

That sucks. I see those coolant tanks on ebay for around $30. Atleast you got it fixed and it didn''t cost a small fortune.
