engine fans don't kick in...
So, after a couple days on heavy research on the internet i see this is a common problem on most alero's.
My wife's car is a 99' alero with the 3.4 and it being summer i noticed her coolant temp gauge hovers around slightly over 1/2 to 3/4, especially in city stop-and-go driving.
The fans do come on when the A/C is on which would tell me the relays/fuses/fans themselves are ok. Now after research alot of ppl say its the CTS? I checked both fan relays and the fuses weren't popped indicting a amp draw from the fan motor, i unplugged the CTS and the fans didnt come on either
I have no check engine lights on or anything.
any help be appreciated.

Fan should come on somewhere around 215, and go back off at about 198 if I remember correctly. If you have 2 speed fans, they should hit high speed at about 220? If it's getting that hot and they arent kiching on, it's either not hot enough at the CTS, insicating low cooland or a pressure/blockage issue, or it is that hot and the CTS doesn't think so. A scan tool would be great to see actual temp vs. what the sensor says it is. If the CTS is cheap and easy to get to, not a bad first guess.
