low coolent light

on my 99 alero i accasionaly get the low coolent dash light and a beep. however i have checked my coolent and i have plenty...i was wandering if maybe its a bad thermostat or sensor..??

It''s not the thermostat. It could be the sensor. Before changing that, have you followed (exactly) the coolant fill procedure and checking procedure in the owners manual? If not, do that first.


It''s not unusual for the sensor to get gunked up, causing a false low reading.

thanks...yeah the sensor was clogged up and not in place right
