Default TRAC OFF & ANTI-LOCK lights won't go away

Got a 99 Alero and these lights have been on for about a month. At 1st they would go on and if I turned off the car, and then restarted it they would go away. Then only the TRAC OFF light would go away. Now they both stay on all the time.

Looking on this site it appears that maybe I have a bearing sensor going out? Any other ideas what this could be?

Is your brake fluid full? Low brake fluid will cause the computer to turn off Antilock and Traction control. However, you probably have a wheel speed sensor bad, or wiring to the sensor, or corrosion/water in the connector at the hub.

I'm pretty sure the fluid is good but I'll check. If the sensor is bad, any guestimates on how hard and how much $ to replace it?

Not hard, it's right on the side of the brake fluid container. Not sure on cost, but shouldn't be very high.

Sensors were fine, but the front passenger bearing was bad. Replace the hub/bearing assembly and the lights went away. I was on the fence to do this since all the lights finally went away, but then I noticed a griding noise coming from the front of the car. Kind of sounded like big truck tires on a highway or something.

Anyway, after replacing the parts the lights have stayed off and the noise is now gone.
