Just bought a 2001 Olds Aurora with 38,000 miles, love the car the minute i saw it, drives likea dream hope that I don't have many problem with it. I also bought a 40,000 mile extended warranty, any feed back on extended warranties are they good to get, do they work, any comments or ideas greatly appreciated

Thanks

I have an 01 with about 42k on it. And yes, I agree it's a great car. I do have to be honest though and state that I have put more $ into it that I feel should be required of such a young vehicle. I drive responsibly and do not go rough on it, so I am dissapointed from time to time with it. Be ready for repairs would be my best advice.

Just my 2 cents.

I have an 01 with 54,000 miles, brought it with 42,000. I too love this car, looks, power as well as handling ability, but unfortunately it is not built well. It's structure is not solid ( rattles an undetectable sounds in dash board and throughout cabin), and mechanically its not up to standard. I've had tranny problems, steering hose and steering colum issues, etc. The best thing you could of done is purchase and extended warranty on this car. Fortunately when I had tranny problems the car was still under its initial warranty, tranny ended up being over hauled, at a cost of over $1800.00. I was covered for that, but I do not have an extended warranty so I'm biting my nails whenever I turn the ignition on. I can't wait till it's paid off. I'll either trade for the 03 aurora which had far less consumer complaints ( this was a new model in 01 so oldsmoble had 2 yrs. to correct all the errors and quality issues), although I will still buy and extened warranty , if for nothing else, for the peace of mind, or I'll trade-in for the caddy seville sts 03, this will be my last crack at american cars. Good luck!

This would be my second aurora 01 model.

Both vehicles had similar problems and the check engine light is just a
normal thing now. I love the body stlye but I just hate the
mechanical

problems
