’85 Cutlass Tech Advice Needed
#1
I want to swap the motor in my '85 Cutlass Supreme for something with more giddyup. I'm thinking about a 350 Rocket if I can find one. I'm pretty new at this sort of thing. I'm not a car dummy by any stretch of the imagination, I'm just new to Olds and have never tackleda project this size before. Any advice on where to look for a motor? Also, how difficult would a switch fromcolumn shift to floor shift be.Thanx. Edited by: rockbeat

I'm not sur about how difficult it would be to switch to floor shifter freom a column shift . . . but if you really wanna do a make over on your car then check out http://garage-scene.home.att.net/t5_install.htm. It tells you how to swap out your whole automatic tranny for a five speed, gives you step by step instructions, pictures, part numbers, weight savings, gear ratios, the whole 9 yards.

As for coulum to floor shifter, you put coloum in park. and disconnect
the rod to tranny to swtich gears. Then cut hole in floor board
connecting your shift cables to your ratchet shifter mounted to the floor
over the hole. and walla. pretty simple
