1970 Cutlass Carb suggestion
#1
I've just installed a new 350 rocket in my 70 convertible
with the following performance upgrades and was looking for a better carburetor
choice. </span>Specs:
350 core from <st1:City w:st="on"><st1lace w:st="on">Napa</st1lace></st1:City>
Hedman Exhaust Headers (very tight fit beware)
New alum. water pump - Mondello.
New Edlebrock 3711 performer intake manifold- Mondello
New adjustable valvetrain – Mondello
New Cam Jm18-20, .488 IN, .496EX- Mondello
New JM 830 Annular Carburetor (vacuum secondary) – Mondello –
recommended
The last recommendation I think was flawed and I’m thinking
its too much CFM for such a heavy car with stock gears. (of which I’m not sure-
highway for sure)
Any recommendations?

i have a holley 750 on my mustang and i love how there is so many adjustments you can make on holley carbs...there is a lot of different things out there to make adjusting easier...make sure if you go with a Holley you buy a book that explains how to adjust it.... on my cougar and cutlass i have an edlebrock 650 and they aren’t really for performance but just about pull out of the box and go...not too much adjusting. if your going for performance, I prefer the Holley and i would say a 650 would be plenty big enough. What rpm range is your cam? if you want vacuum secondary’s go with the 4160 model dual feed and if you want all out performance (little harder to adjust) 4150 model double pumperEdited by: 67coug
