Default '68 Cutlass with toronado 455, no spark?

Hey guys, I have a '68 olds cutlass with a 455 out of a '68 toronado and it ran fine for a few months and when I finally got it in my garage at home it died and I can't get it started again. I troubleshooted a bit and found that I was get very little but sporatic spark to the plugs. I'm not too familiar with points types of ignition systems so I thought I'd ask what to look for?

the first thing to do is clean the points with some fine sand paper 600. do not let the points close on the grit, then clean the points with a brown paper bag only because it has no film on it,best is to replace points cap at .018 and it should start. be shure the filler gauge is clean. carb cleaner on rag cleans the gauge. grime is the enemy on points. if not the points the choices are ends

Be sure to check all connections on top of cleaning the points.
