Hey guys I have a 98 cutlass brake light and abs light on. Pulled up1286 ebcm code and 1251 rear abs motor free spins.Put a new (junkyard) ebcm and still get red brake lite. Can anyone educate me on what rear abs motor free spins means.
do I have to replace whole abs unit. Is there a reley for abs ,cant find one .Any help would be great thanks ,Chuck

 

C1286 is for the ABS motor pack. Remove it and see if the large gears on the hydraulic unit turn, if they do, replace motor pack and recheck. This system requires the use of a compatible scanner to "rehome" the motor pack. The abs relay is supposed to be in the engine compartment fuse box.
