When I first start my 88 cutlass it is idling at around 2000 RPM once it warms up it goes back to normal but I have to let it fast idle for about 5 mins. shut the car off and start it again then everything is fine. Can anyone head me in the right direction, i'm stumped?

my 1982 cutlass supreme does the same thing so im guessing it comes with age...
