HELP

I have a 1984 cutlass supreme with 65,000 original miles. with a 307. I am experiecing an intake leak (antifreeze). I did it 2x and I still cant it not to leak. any tricks. or suggestions. when i take the intake off i am cleaning it real good. the intake is not cracked


please help

u have to put silicone around the coolant passages along with the gasket, i had this problem with a 350 olds, also make sure that the gasket is not sliding on u when u put the intake back on.

I agree with 455.


My procedure is use High Tack both sides of the gasket. Skim coat RTV around the water passages. Set it in place on the heads for about 5 minutes. Place the intake and torque her down.

The best trick to fix this problem is get a iron intake from a 350, I have done many of these, and it works great.
