How do install a chevy 400 into a 68' Cutlass?
A customer of mine wants to install a CHEVY 400 small block and 400 transmissio out of a 76 chevy pickup. What mods need to be done to get this motor/tranny combo into the 68' Cutlass?

Who knows eh ! could be motor mounts, drive shaft, throttle linkage, wiring, rad hoses, heater hoses, trans. mounts, cross member, speedo cable ...lordy lordy... don't give him a price.. give him an hourly rate. Sorry..400 chevy into 68 cutlass..yeah..could be the same price as getting an olds motor redone ?
Thanks for the reply, after some research, I've discovered it's gonna be a mission to get this done. He said he'd pay me 2500 for the job. Hopefully I can get it done in 2 weeks. I got a shop to pull the old motor and trans out and install the new one for 600, he will fabricate the mount towers and crossmember, I got another driveline shop that will modify the driveline for 300. That leaves me 1600 to get whatever I need to make it work.

SD, can you point me in the right direction to an oldsmobile supplier that sells BOP parts i.e. rebuilt longblocks, chrome dress up kits, etc. ? He wants me to put together another longblock and tranny to install into another cutlass shell.
