low fuel warning light

low fuel warning light

My fuel gauge spun clock wise and peged out. What triggers the low fuel warning light ?

I want to know also . Thought low warning lights came in in the 90s

The fuel gauge needle in my '90 Ciera recently 'pegged right', now it won't start? Any help?
