Rag joint problem, on 1968 cutlass
Well, I am under going a steering gearbox change. I have a 1968 cutlass with a non power steering gearbox and I am installing a power steering gearbox off a 71 cutlass so I will have power steering. I already have all the nessesary components such as power steering pump, brackets and hoses. However, when I got the old gearbox off (which went without a hitch) I now have the porblem with the old rag joint going on the '71 power steering gearbox. Most parts places call for the same rag joint for both gearboxes. Any idea on how I can open up the exsisting rag joint or is there a different rag joint out there? Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

you could spring the flange open by prying open the saw slot, (so the fitup would appear loose). But once you start tightening the pinch bolt, things should snug up properly.
