My fiance's Cutlass supreme V2 has always leaked a little oil, but it has been plagued with problems for a little over a year. First the water pump went, then the rad started leaking. After replacing all the coolant hoses, also bad, the muffler fell off. right off of the engine block. we replaced that. the turn signals dont stay on and the parking brake is bad. Now there is a severe shaking when in overdrive and the engine revves before engaging transmission when changing gears. Her father was an auto mechanic for 20 years, as i often hear, and he says there is nothing wrong with it. I guess he hasn't paid much attention during his career. I have my own idea of what's wrong, but what do you guys think?

I had a '95 that lasted 188,000 miles before I sold it, and it still ran great. My turn signals did the same as yours, however. Eventually, with regular use, the problem went away on its own.

The parking brake problem may be just an adjustment. Any shop could do it for you pretty easy.

How long has it been since you checked/changed the tranny fluid and filter? Low fluid will cause the revving between gear changes. Of course, there could be another cause, too. I don't know about the shaking in overdrive. Are you sure it's coming from the tranny?
