Default 1993 Yard Sale 88 LS Royale "SECURITY"...ughh

So, this car was originally from TX. I am in Maine. I was smitten by the body and chassis - no rust! The paint is gross, baked under the TX sun and then cheaply resprayed. Interior is decent with 110k on odometer. Underhood is a peach and the 3.8 runs great now that I fixed the coil pack that I fried washing under the hood. Now, the infamous "Security/VATS/PASSkey II" demon has reared its ugly head only 2 weeks into ownership. I have done my research on this and I am confident in the bypass fix it yourself trick(s). However...Any thoughts, cautions, tips or helpful advice is welcome before I launch headlong into it...I knew a $1200 car would not be free of gremlins...I am sure the electrical system will be the undoing of this car...old and brittle...and I am no electrician...

Also, other electrical issues: Stereo - front passenger speaker only works?, Coolant Level light, needs sensor, replacement tips? Odometer/Tripmeter has stopped working?
