Default engine tick

Hey guys, I have a light engine tick under load ( drive or reverse) after about 5 min of warming up. If I rev the engine in park its worse. Engine type 307 olds with 75k. Can someone tell me where to start, the only things I've tried is heavier weight oil and a high flow oil filter. I also changed the spark plugs , cap and rotor. Thanks.

I see that no one has responded, so I'll jump in. The tick is caused by one of 3 factors, lack of lubrication, wear or need for adjustment.

It sounds as though you are getting oil to the lifters, so concentrate on the other two possibilities. Since the lifters are hydraulic, there is not a whole lot of adjustment possibilities, unless a rocker arm nut happens to be loose. So, the most likely culprit is wear. That calls for a close inspection on your part.
